The rules of the PSDA Raffle - Last updated: 23 April 2024

Raffle terms and conditions:

This draw is open to all residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales) over the age of 18, who reply by the closing date. Employees of PDSA, their agencies and advisors are ineligible. Payments for raffle entries received after the closing date will not be entered and will be treated as a donation to PDSA.

We will use the personal data you supply in order to verify your age in accordance with our obligations under our operating licence issued by the Gambling Commission. We have a legal obligation to ensure the people who play and enjoy our lottery and raffle games are over the age of 16. (However, as part of our commitment to social responsibility we have increased the minimum age for our lotteries and raffles to 18). This means that we may use your personal data for the purposes of carrying out random age verification checks, either from information you have provided PDSA, or from using information available from a range of commercial, public, or open sources such as the edited electoral role.

PDSA is committed to protecting your personal information and will never exchange or sell your details to another organisation for their own marketing purposes. We would like to let you know about our work with sick and injured animals, including fundraising, volunteering, pet insurance, and animal welfare issues. To provide you with the best possible experience we will also use your personal information to help us decide what you may like to hear about and to personalise our advertising, communications, and services. Prizes: Prizes will be awarded in order of selection, and winners will be notified within 10 days of the draw date and a list of winners will be available here. Winners agree, at the Promoter's request, to participate in all promotional activity (such as publicly and photography) surrounding the winning of the prize, free of charge, and they consent to the use of their name and image within PDSA marketing or promotional materials.

Speed draw terms and conditions:

Open to all residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales) over the age of 18, who reply within the first seven days of the raffle being opened. Employees of PDSA, their agencies and advisors are ineligible. The speed draw prize will be given to the first name drawn from those eligible players, on the draw date. Only one entry per person. No purchase required. To enter the speed draw without buying raffle tickets, send your name and address and reference to speed draw on a plain postcard to: PDSA, Whitechapel Way, Priorslee, Telford, Shropshire TF2 9PQ. Entries received after the closing date will not be entered.

How the raffle proceeds are used:

In 2024 our Raffle proceeds were £680,669 of which 76% was spent on helping poorly pets, 10% on prizes and 14% on expenses. Based on all of PDSA’s 2024 Raffle draws, the odds of winning a prize are 1 in 5971.

Responsible gambling:

No more than £20 worth of tickets ’40 chances’ per raffle may be sold to any one individual as part of PDSA's commitment to social responsibility.

Gambling can be great fun, but it's also important for players to know when to stop and what the danger signs are. By accepting the prize, the winner may be invited to take part in promotional activity. The Promoting Society will request the winners permission before using their name, address (in a generalised form, e.g. town or county), photograph, or any audio/visual recordings of them in publicity materials.

Prizes are issued as follows:

(a) First Prize £12,000(b) Second Prize £2,500(c) Third Prize 5 x £250(d) Fourth Prize 50 x £25The Promoting Society reserves the right to amend the prizes at any time. Any such changes will be published on the Promoting Society’s website at least one month prior to a change being made.

Each winning ticket shall only be entitled to win one prize in each Draw. Once a winning ticket has won a prize it is ineligible for winning another.

All prizes will be drawn in value order (highest value first).

The results of each Draw will be published on the raffle website within one week of the date of the Draw and may also be published in any other manner determined by the Promoting Society from time to time.

Winners will be notified by post within one week of the date of the Draw. Payment of prizes will be made via cheque or BACS.

The Promoting Society reserves the right to withhold the payment of any prize until it is entirely satisfied that the player who has won the prize has fully complied with the Rules, including as to being of legal age.

If, upon winning any prize in the raffle, you are not able to prove that you have met the criteria specified above then you will not be entitled to receive that prize and your account will be closed.

There are no alternatives to the prizes offered from time to time and no interest is payable.

Any uncashed cheques will be classed as unclaimed prizes and will be re-credited to the Promoting Society’s main account after a period of six months has elapsed. In the event that the Promoting Society learns that a winning Player is deceased, the prize will be payable to his or her estate. Speed draw terms and conditions (this is a prize promotion, not licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission. This prize promotion is not a lottery):Open to all residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales) over the age of 18, who reply within the timeframe specified on the website/ DM Pack. Employees of PDSA, their agencies and advisors are ineligible. The speed draw prize will be given to the first name drawn from those eligible players, on the draw date. Only one entry per person. No purchase required. To enter the speed draw without buying raffle tickets, send your name and address and reference to speed draw on a plain postcard to: PDSA, Whitechapel Way, Priorslee, Telford, Shropshire TF2 9PQ. Entries received after the closing date will not be entered.

Responsible gambling:No more than £60 worth of tickets ’120 chances’ per raffle may be sold to any one individual as part of PDSA's commitment to social responsibility. Any monies for tickets that are returned after the raffle closing date will not be entered into the draw but will be processed as a donation instead (unless a refund is specifically requested). In the event that tickets are purchased over the maximum limit on total entries, we will contact you to determine whether you require a refund or are happy to make an additional donation to PDSA. We will make a maximum of four attempts (three phone calls and one letter) to ascertain your intentions, if we are unsuccessful after the fourth attempt the over-purchase will be treated as a donation by default.

Should you feel that you have a problem with gambling and wish to be self-excluded from our raffle please phone our helpline number 0370 034 0788 and request a self-exclusion formThere is a minimum period of 6 months self-exclusion, which can be extended by further periods of 6 months, up to a maximum of 5 years.We will not target you directly with any gambling specific marketing material during the self-exclusion period and will remove your name and details from any gambling related marketing lists used by ourselves, until you take positive steps to resume playing and notify us of this.You will need to contact us after your period of self-exclusion to re-instate your raffle entries, and you will be given a “cooling-off” period of 24 hours before you can purchase entries into a Draw following your contact with us to inform us that you wish to commence playing again. These special measures will continue to apply to you for a period of 7 years.
